Tabitha Reach participated in Deborah Foundation’s pan-African Africa Celebrates 2025 initiative, strengthening collaboration to support mothers and individuals with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities across Africa.
On November 5, 2025 Tabitha Reach participated in Africa Celebrates 2025, a pan-African inclusion initiative organized by the Deborah Foundation, aimed at advancing empowerment, dignity, and equal opportunities for children, youth, and adults with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities across the African continent.
The event convened organizations and advocates from South Africa, Tanzania, Kenya, and Ethiopia, providing a regional platform to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and strengthen collaboration on disability inclusion and family-centered support systems. Discussions throughout the gathering focused on improving access to resources, promoting social inclusion, and addressing systemic challenges faced by families of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Through engagement with partner organizations, Tabitha Reach gained deeper insight into the lived experiences of mothers raising children and adults with Down syndrome, many of whom face emotional, social, and economic challenges compounded by limited institutional support. These conversations reinforced the importance of coordinated, community-based approaches that place mothers at the center of empowerment and long-term impact.
The participation in Africa Celebrates 2025 aligns closely with Tabitha Reach’s mission to empower vulnerable mothers and strengthen family resilience. By connecting with regional partners, the organization reaffirmed its commitment to collaborative solutions that recognize the strength, leadership, and resilience of mothers while responding to the realities they face daily.
Tabitha Reach expresses its appreciation to Ms. Beki Abadulla, Chief Executive Officer of Deborah Foundation, and Mr. Elias, Board Member of Deborah Foundation, for the invitation and warm hospitality. The leadership demonstrated by the Deborah Foundation reflects a strong commitment to advancing disability inclusion and cross-border collaboration across Africa.
Building on the relationships formed during Africa Celebrates 2025, Tabitha Reach looks forward to future partnerships that promote inclusion, expand support for mothers, and create sustainable opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Through continued collaboration, these efforts aim to transform inclusion into meaningful, lasting impact across African communities.
